Kids, Work and Omega 3 for Kids

There are 2 types of AMD. Wet AMD is when the blood vessels beneath the macular grow abnormally. Eventually they leak through and scar the macular, thus blurring vision. Dry AMD is when normal tissue in the macular gradually disappears causing "central geographic atrophy"

The US National Eye Institute carried out a large study called Age Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS) with a sub section that looked into AMD and diet specifically. They concluded that increased intake of omega 3 for kids essential fatty acid could reduce your chance of developing wet AMD by 35% and dry AMD by 32%. This supports a study carried out in 2008 at the University of Melbourne, Australia which concluded that omega 3 for kids reduced your chance of developing AMD by 38% and it was also particularly helpful during the advanced stages of the disease. This study also concludes that eating oily fish twice a week was associated with a reduced risk in both early and late AMD.

Why does omega 3 for kids make a difference? It is widely accepted that these fatty acids, and particularly DHA play an important role in the layer of nerve cells in the retina and it is this role that leads scientists to understand why omega 3 for kids might reduce the chance of developing AMD in the retina.
More and more research comes to light that suggests omega 3 for kids essential fatty acids have far and wide reaching positive effects on our health, perhaps particularly for the older generation as this essential fatty acid seems so good at protecting the health of so many different parts of our body. I would imagine it hard to find a health professional who didn't agree that we should eat more oily fish, and many who would also suggest taking a high quality omega 3 for kids supplement as well.

You may have heard recently about cold pressed enteric omega 3 for kids as opposed to the usual kind of fish oil, so what does it mean and are there increased benefits to be had?

Well the truth is that they contain much lower quality oil than most fish oil supplements and can be potentially harmful if there are not distilled. Cold pressed enteric omega 3 for kids is just a gimmick used by manufacturers to enable them to charge more for a product which offers little benefits.

What an enteric coating does is allow the contents to pass safely through the stomach and into the upper intestine, which is great for nutritional supplements, but not for omega 3 for kids oil as it should be released into the stomach for maximum effectiveness.

What an enteric coating does here is disguise rancid and stale oil so you don't get those fishy burps you would get if released properly!

The cold pressed aspect is just playing on the fact that many substances like olive oil for example provide more benefits if they use this process.

So you should never select a fish oil that has this type of coating as a high quality one will not give you any unpleasant repeating and will provide far more health benefits.

To select the best oils ensure they have undergone molecular distillation. omega 3 for kids
